Ombishkebines Chato Gonzalez

has been working with Obizaan/Lee Staples a first language speaker from the Aazhoomog community in Minnesota since 2006 as an Ojibwe Language apprentice. Obizaan and Ombishkebines have co-published numerous newspaper articles, and in 2015 published their first book titled, Aanjikiing/Changing Worlds: An Anishinaabe Traditional Funeral. He is an enrolled member of the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe. Ombishkebines earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota twin cities in Ojibwe Language. He is currently a Masters student in the Graduate Teaching Licensure program at the College of Saint Scholastica.
