Waadookodaading students enjoy the benefits of an Ojibwemowin total immersion experience which is an extremely rare opportunity at this point in time. All curriculum is delivered in the Ojibwe language, and therefore students pick it up much more quickly than their non-immersion educated peers. In addition to language immersion, students enjoy a variety of traditional Ojibwe learning experiences such as: harvesting and processing wild rice, boiling down maple sap, ice-fishing, snowshoeing, trapping camps, and many others. These opportunities come together to make a whole-picture educational experience that protects and preserves the culture and traditions of the Ojibwe people. All of these traditions have helped to shape the history of this country as we know it today. These teaching methods give our students the tools they will need to become the leaders of tomorrow.
